May 11, 2005—Philips Lighting Company has introduced the 25-watt ALTO Energy Advantage T8 System, with the lowest energy consumption of any four-foot T8 system on the market, the company says.
The system reduces energy consumption by over 45 percent in applications using T12 lamps and magnetic ballasts, according to the company, and 20 to 30 percent for applications using conventional T8 lamps and electronic ballasts.
Philips says, more than 40 percent of commercial and industrial facilities use T12 lamps, and replacing them with the 25-watt ALTO Energy Advantage T8 System could save 15 watts per lamp.
Developed jointly with Advance, the system operates on instant-start of programmed-start ballasts that supply equal or greater than 550 starting voltage.
