TANDUS wins fourth consecutive Antron Sustainability Award

May 28, 2008—Tandus, a leading floorcovering manufacturer and Ephrata (WA) Middle were honored as recipients of the 2008 Antron Sustainable Flooring Performance Award. An independent jury of design and facilities professionals selected the winning installation.

This is the fourth consecutive Sustainable Flooring Performance Award for Tandus, which won the honor each year since the competitions inception. Recognizing sustainable interior design practices through the use of performance-driven flooring in commercial carpet applications, the award competition was open to projects with floorcovering made with Antron nylon installed for ten years or longer and still providing unfailing performance on the floor.

In all four years that Antron has awarded the Sustainable Flooring Award, Tandus has captured the Grand Prize with installations that showcase performance and longevity. The company’s C&A brand, Powerbond RS, is engineered to withstand years of the rigors and abuses found in school settings, as well as virtually eliminating many of the indoor air quality concerns traditionally associated with carpet. In high moisture and high traffic areas, Powerbond continues to outperform conventional carpet and even most hard surface flooring, says the company.

Due to its impermeable cushion vinyl backing, Powerbond prevents penetration of spills to the floor beneath, and cold welded seams assure no microbial penetration even at seams.
