FBG Service Corporation has just announced their selection of TangoPoint.com as the company’s wireless technology for facility management. TangoPoint.com permits FBG managers to input facility inspection information, initiate work orders, and communicate with customers and suppliers via the Internet from any handheld wireless device. This eliminates the time-consuming step of entering the information on a form and later entering it into the database from the office or from a laptop in a hotel room.
TangoPoint.com utilizes a concept called “intelligent empowerment.” The TangoPoint.com data center will house FBG’s property and building information. FBG’s managers, customers, and suppliers will access the TangoPoint.com database via the Internet using a PC or a handheld wireless device.
Field-based users can add, delete, change, or view data depending upon pre-determined user profiles. Customers can schedule changes or special requests, view the status of work that is currently scheduled, and generate reports on-line. The TangoPoint.com technology is being developed by a team of software engineers who have been working on the system since the beginning of the year.
FBG Service Corporation is a facility management company which manages large-scale outsourced building service contracts for Fortune 500 companies. The firm currently manages more than 50 million square feet nationwide.
