December 3, 2007—Teknion has announced that it has become the first major office furniture manufacturer to achieve GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification for Indoor Air Quality for its major systems and seating products.
The GREENGUARD Children & Schools Certification presents the most stringent emissions criteria for products and meets the State of California’s requirements (Section 01350) for testing and qualifying low-emitting materials.
The Children & Schools standard is also applicable to hospitals, healthcare, education (front and back office), and corporate clients demanding the lowest-emitting furniture available. The program has the most stringent third-party emission limits for chemical contaminants, and is specified in the US Green Building Council’s newest rating systems: LEED for Schools and LEED for Healthcare, the Green Guide for Healthcare, and other national green building programs.
