April 3, 2002—Award-winning product designer Richard Holbrook has partnered with Teknion, the international designer of office systems and office furniture products, to create dna, a web-based office furniture company that enables people to build customized workstations online.
“Its time for an entirely new kind of office furniture company, one that designs products specifically for the small and medium-sized businesses where many of us now work,” said Richard Holbrook, dna CEO.
Proprietary web-based software incorporates two design-and-specification tools: dna Builder and dna Assistant. dna Builder enables users to design, arrange and personally customize their own workspaces online using 3D symbols representing the entire dna product line. dna Assistant enables company managers to set up some basic parameters, such as price or color, and then allows workers to configure their own workspaces around these predetermined guidelines.
Currently, dna offers a range of customizable mobile and wall mounted desks, chairs, tables, storage systems, file units, movable partitions and desk accessories.
Teknion dealers can use the dna web site to create and share furniture configurations with customers as well as provide sales, service and installation support. Select dealers across the United States will display dna furniture in their showrooms and offer on-site access to the dna web site. For more information, contact dna.
