April 18, 2007—Teknion Corporation has unveiled its comprehensive, fully featured Fitz task chair. Fitz was created around ISO 9241, the Ergonomics of Human System Interaction. This fundamental international standard provides ergonomic requirements for office employees using visual display terminals.
By taking the most demanding dimensional requirements of North America, European, and Japanese ergonomic guidelines, and translating these into the most extended range of adjustment features available anywhere, Fitz addresses a greater office employee population than most other task seating products on the market, explains Teknion.
With such an extended range of adjustments to accommodate global anthropometrics, Teknion reports that Fitz is the closest seating product on the market today to a “one size fits all” office task chair.
Fitz has translated the most demanding dimensional requirements of ergonomic guidelines into a broader range of adjustability, complying with the following internationally recognized standards:
- ANSI/BIFMA G1 — 2002 (American National Standards Institute/Business Institute of Furniture Manufacturers Association Ergonomics Guideline for Visual Display Terminal Furniture Used in Office Work Spaces)
- CGSB 44.232 — 2002 (Canadian General Standards Boards Task Chairs for Office Work with Visual Display Terminals)
- JIS S1032:2004 (Japanese guidelines)
- EN 1335 (European office work chair standards)
- NPR (Dutch guidelines — the most stringent)
With its slender profile, appealing shape, clean lines and contemporary flair, Fitz meets the requirements of designers, healthcare professionals, guideline-conscious specifiers and their employees.
Body fit contouring, back height with lumbar adjustability, and shoulder support allow Fitz to provide seating for personal preferences. The backrest remains in contact with the user’s back throughout its range of reclination, providing complete comfort.
Fitz is available in fabric or leather. The base and back frame uprights are polished or black. Fitz is made of recycled and recyclable materials and, like all other major product lines from Teknion, is Greenguard Certified for Indoor Air Quality.
