November 28, 2003—Expansion Desking is Teknion Corporation’s new, comprehensive line of freestanding, desk-based office furniture for multiple applications in the open office environment. According to Teknion, Expansion Desking offers clients an open office product with a “distinctly light and refreshing aesthetic,” yet one that meets the functional workplace needs of wire management, storage, and privacy.
The basic desk modules are constructed using a structurally integral metal frame, to which components such as worksurfaces, storage, Element fascias, gables, and modesty panels are added, says the company. Power and data management is a basic feature. Three different electrical systems deliver power above, below, and at worksurface height, as required. Various storage needs are accommodated above and below the worksurface. The system’s structural columns support overhead storage cabinets without encumbering the worksurface. They also support four different Element fascias, which provide different workstation functions and design flourishes.
Expansion Desking has multiple applications. It can be easily configured and reconfigured as individual workstations, reception stations, or clusters of workstations, while accommodating the diverse needs of government, education, and institutional markets, as well as call centers.
Expansion Desking is available in all Teknion standard finishes, including wood. The line is GREENGUARD Certified for Indoor Air Quality, as are all of Teknion’s major product lines. For more information visit Teknion.
