September 5, 2001—The Watt Stopper, a California-based provider of lighting control products, has released LS-201, an indoor dimming device that combines the photocell and controller into a single unit. Compatible with standard 0-10V electronic dimming ballasts, the LS-201 automatically dims lighting based on ambient light levels.
The LS-201 utilizes a patent-pending, spectral filtering system to detect the total amount of daylight and artificial light levels, and maintain lighting at desired task illumination levels. Other features include user-adjustable dimming rates, adjustable foot-candle settings, and an optional override for full lighting levels if desired. The LS-201 is suitable for a wide range of applications, including classrooms and offices.
