Third edition of UK accessibility report includes new and updated information

April 15, 2005—The Workplace Law Network is issuing a comprehensively revised and updated third edition of its special report Disability: Making Buildings Accessible.

This 200-page report reviews the impact of the new Disability Discrimination Act 2005 (DDA) and its relationship with other important legislation, such as Part M of the Building Regulations, says Workplace Law. It describes in detail what adaptations need to be made to meet obligations under the DDA, and describes what might be considered reasonable in achieving this.

There is practical advice relating to historic buildings and premises protected by planning conditions, where there are differing demands between aesthetics, practicality and the obligations imposed under accessibility legislation.

The Workplace Law Network is the legal publisher of choice for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, the Royal Institute of British Architects, the British Institute of Facilities Management and the International Facilities Management Association (UK Chapter). The report is the UKs No.1 guide for building managers, owners, architects and surveyors, according to Workplace Law. To order, visit the Workplace Law Web site.
