Transportation panel approves federal building projects

August 1, 2001—The American Institute for Architects (AIA) reports that the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management recently approved forty-seven proposals for the construction, renovation, and maintenance of buildings used by federal agencies. Of the proposals, twenty-four are for modernization and repair, and eleven are for renovation. The total cost is $439 million.
