Tricycle wins sustainability award from IIDA, AIA and CoreNet Global

May 8, 2006—Tricycle, Inc was honored with a special recognition at this year’s Global Sustainable Leadership Awards for Design and Development, an international program presented by the American Institute of Architects, CoreNet Global and the International Interior Design Association.

The awards, in their fifth year, recognize companies who lead by example as a cornerstone of their business practices. Winners of the Global Sustainable Leadership Awards were Herman Miller, Texas Instruments, and global architecture and engineering firm HOK.

The judges created a Special Recognition for Innovation to acknowledge sustainable design company Tricycle, Inc for its innovative digitally modeled paper print carpet samples, which are used by architects and interior designers during the early rounds of design decision making.

In 2005, 37,701 SIM prints were sent as product samples to interior designers, conserving 9,425 gallons of oil and keeping 56,551 pounds of carpet samples from landfill. Designers also used Tricycle’s online tools to create 77,998 simulations and install virtual carpet into 385,208 room scenes.
