January 19, 2007—Techtronic Industries (TTI) has entered into a purchase agreement to acquire the Hoover floor care business from Whirlpool Corporation. TTI says the addition of Hoover to its existing Royal Appliance and Vax floor care businesses will strengthen its market globally, by diversifying its customer base, expanding its product offering, and adding scale to its operations.
TTI’s existing brands include Royal, Dirt Devil, Regina, and Vax, and with the addition of Hoover, TTI says it will offer a broader and more focused product selection to end-users and retailers across the globe and expand its capabilities in R&D for accelerated product innovations.
