November 13, 2002—Martin Ballendats design of Turkey Trot lounge and guest seating for Dauphin has won a 2002 GOOD DESIGN Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design. Designers and manufacturers were judged by a jury in Reykjavik, Iceland, specializing in graphic arts, and a jury of design professionals in New York City.
“The dramatic semi-circular backrest (which bears a resemblance to the extravagant fan of a turkeys tail feathers) is covered with netting that flexes to create a dynamic and healthful sitting experience, enhanced by cushioned swivel seats. We are gratified that top designers continue to recognize Dauphins innovation in design, both in appearance and function,” says Peter Greene, vice president of marketing for Dauphin.
Dauphin North America is the U.S. subsidiary of the German seating company, F-W. Dauphin GmbH.
