Tyco Electronics has introduced an optical fiber cabling system for secure networks that offers the features of the standard MT-RJ connector. Tyco designed the new system, Amp NetConnect MT-RJ, in response to demand for additional measures of physical security among military, government and financial institutions running highly sensitive or classified networks.
The MT-RJ connector secure products feature molded slots on the plug and molded keys on the latching jack to limit user access to specific networks and physically segregate network segments. The plugs and jacks are keyed in four different color-coded versions to assist network administrators in identifying the designated plug intended for an authorized workstation jack.
The MT-RJ connector secure products are designed to fit into conventional RJ-45 faceplates and patch panel cutouts to provide the greatest density when converting from copper to optical fiber cabling. For more information, contact the Amp NetConnect web site.
