Tyco International Ltd., a diversified manufacturing and service company, has been named the number one performing company of 2000 by BusinessWeek magazine.
The BusinessWeek 50, which ranks companies in the S&P 500 Index based on nine criteria, named Tyco number one in a special Spring 2001 issue. Tyco is the top performer based on its revenue growth, earnings growth, return to shareholders, profit margins and return on equity, tallied for both one year and three years.
Tyco is the world’s largest manufacturer and servicer of electrical components; the world’s largest designer, manufacturer, installer and servicer of undersea telecommunications systems; the world’s largest manufacturer, installer and provider of fire protection systems and electronic security services, and the world’s largest manufacturer of flow control valves.
