U.S. Patent for Cabling Awarded to DRG and The Siemon Company

DRG International, a manufacturer of modular office furniture, and The Siemon Company, a developer and manufacturer of telecommunications cabling systems, have been awarded a United States patent for a standards-compliant horizontal network cabling technology used in modular office furniture.

DRG founder and President Mark Bassil said, “U.S. Patent 6019321 recognizes the unique placement of cabling consolidation points within modular office wall panels and Multi-user Telecommunications Outlet Assemblies (MUTOA) used in close proximity to modular furniture clusters.” The Siemon Company and DRG co-developed this technology and have been using it in DRG’s innovative MACsys modular office furniture systems since 1997.

DRG’s MACsys office system received a Best of NeoCon Award in 1997 and 1999. The system has been adopted by dozens of companies including Total Renal Care, Starwood Resorts, Elgin, Illinois, School District, and $witchSoft Systems, Inc.
