UK cleaning industry awards “top cleanability” for building designs

July 31, 2002—Discovery House, the Farnborough, UK base of CENTRICA PLC, has won the Gold 2002 Building Cleanability Award, for its “cleaning friendly” building design and internal layout.

The Silver Award was given to The White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds and the Bronze Award to Royal London House at Wilmslow.

The Building Cleanability Awards are run by the cleaning industry Livery Company—The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners, in association with The British Cleaning Council. Additional sponsorship support is provided by The British Institute of Cleaning Science and The Cleaning and Support Services Association, along with Darwin Clayton (UK), Greenham and Karcher (UK).

A total of 11 five star, 21 four star and 11 three star awards were presented. The next Awards scheme will be launched in September 2003.
