UK Dept. of Trade and Industry helps companies crack down on workplace bullying

August 29, 2001—The UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is providing money through the Partnership Fund to help companies improve communication, reduce workplace bullying, build better work/life balance practices, and resolve disputes.

The latest round of winners was announced August 7, 2001. The government has now paid out a total of 3.9 million since the Partnership Fund was launched in 1999. 1.1 million is left for the next round, expected later in the year. The scheme runs for four years, and each winner can receive up to 50,000 from the government.

Organizations could be looking at partnerships for the first time or building on existing efforts. The winners come from the private, public, and voluntary sectors and from unionized and non-unionized organizations. Successful applicants are awarded grants of up to 50% of total project costs, with the remainder being met by participating organizations. For more information, visit the DTI.
