UK DTLR warns landlords: Make commercial leases more flexible or face statutory code

October 17, 2001—According to a report by workplacelaw.net, UK Regeneration Minister Sally Keeble recently warned that if landlords fail to reach by March 2002, final agreement on making commercial leases more flexible, the government would begin a move toward a statutory code and legislation. The code would deal with the issue of upward-only rent reviews and would focus on guidance for small property businesses.
