UK moves to reduce passive smoking in the workplace

On April 24, 2001, legislation was introduced into the UK Parliament that would require employers to manage passive smoking in the workplace. The legislation, the Protection From Smoking (Employees and Young Persons) Bill 2001, is designed to reduce or eliminate the exposure of employees to smoking in the workplace, as well as to protect children and young persons from such exposure in public places.
