UK safety campaign opens nominations for awards in construction industry

July 18, 2003—The UK’s largest health and safety campaign, the Health and Safety Executive’s Working Well Together (WWT) campaign, opened nominations for its annual health and safety awards June 25. Any size or type of organization in the construction industry can enter the 4C Construction Awards for 2003 and, if successful, gain national recognition for their health and safety practices.

The WWT says that the awards are an opportunity for the construction industry, including managers, the workforce, trade unions, professionals, and the supply chain to showcase what they have done to improve health and safety at work, and to get the recognition that they deserve for going “the extra mile.”

The winners will be announced at an awards event to be held at the Grosvenor House in London on November 6. The competition is free to enter. The closing date for the awards is 5 pm on September 19, 2003, except for the No. 1 Worker award, which closes at 5 pm on October 17, 2003. Further information and entry forms can be downloaded from the Working Well Together Web site, or by contacting Kylie Mettam at 0207 862 0084.
