UK study finds drop in the number of FM courses being offered

May 11, 2005—Independent research carried out by i-FM has revealed that the number of facilities management courses being offered at universities across the UK is in decline.

Over the last five years, nine major universities have dropped a facilities management course at the masters, undergraduate or HND level, the study found.

Some universities attribute the decline to a lack of students enrolling on the courses. One university admitted it was unable to gain accreditation from a professional body, and another said the company sponsoring its course had pulled out.
