UK’s BRE offers guide for hotel security

October 9, 2006—In light of British surveys that report as many as 90 crimes per year for every 100 hotels, the UK ‘s Building Research Establishment (BRE) has published a new guide on hotel security. Securing Your Hotel is a practical tool designed to help hotel owners and managers ensure that their premises and guests are safe from crime.

With simple step-by-step illustrations, the guide shows how to review current security features and offers advice on how to tackle problem areas.

It gives guidance on a whole range of security issues, such as: petty theft, car theft, burglary, robbery, assault, arson, and the ever-growing threat of terrorism.

It also advises on where to go when there is a need for professional help and how to choose suitable security products or services with a proven track record.

Copies are available from the BRE Bookshop.
