November 16, 2007—ISSA, a worldwide industry association, has published a case study detailing the processes and accomplishments of UNICCO Service Co. as it achieved Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Certification with Honors.
The case study entitled “CIMS Certification Adds Layer of Trust for UNICCO Clients” describes UNICCO’s best-in-class practices and serves as a guide for other organizations that seek CIMS certification or simply want to improve their operations.
The case study also provides insights into what commercial building managers should look for when they purchase facilities management services, says ISSA.
CIMS applies to the management, operations, and performance systems of cleaning organizations. Compliance with the standard demonstrates that a cleaning operation is structured to deliver consistent, quality services designed to meet customers needs and expectations. CIMS certification is often required in bid specifications.
The UNICCO case study follows a third-party assessment that included an on-site review of UNICCO’s systems, processes and documentation. The reviewers also visited randomly selected UNICCO customers to ensure that the companys activities are consistent with its documented systems and processes.
