March 18, 2002—VFA recently deployed its software and its facility condition assessment methodology at the University of Illinois. VFA.facility, VFA’s core software platform, is being used across the Urbana-Champaign, Chicago, and Springfield campuses to centralize the University’s FM program and to enable school officials to leverage enterprise-wide building data in funding requests and project planning.
VFA’s facility certified condition assessment methodology, used to gather accurate building condition information across an organization, enables the University of Illinois to identify and prioritize its deferred maintenance and facilities renewal projects across the three dispersed campuses. The University-wide audit covers approximately 28.6 million square feet of space and more than 750 buildings.
The information gathered in the audit arms University officials with the tools required to estimate funding for building maintenance projects, from improving facility life-safety features to decreasing future deterioration of building components.
