Universal Forest Products introduces next generation of pressure-treated wood

September 8, 2006—Universal Forest Products, a leading producer of pressure-treated wood, has introduced ProWood Micro treated lumber.

In addition to all the benefits of current pressure-treating technology, this next generation of pressure-treated wood has the added advantage of being corrosion resistant, so there’s no need for expensive nails or stainless steel fasteners, says the company. ProWood Micro can withstand harsh weather conditions and is effective for decades.

Like other preserved wood products from Universal Forest Products, ProWood Micro is pressure treated with a waterborne preservative system containing copper and quaternary compounds to protect against insect attack and decay. With ProWood Micro, the copper preservative is micronized, which reduces the corrosive properties.

ProWood Micro pressure-treated lumber is clean and safe for handling and for the environment and has a fresher, more natural appearance than other treated wood. ProWood Micro is also odorless, non-staining and non-irritating to humans.
