December 12, 2003—Universal Security Instruments, Inc. announced it has received Underwriters Laboratory (UL) approval for listing for a new combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarm designed for both the electrical and retail distribution channels.
The UL listing clears the way for availability of the unit within the wholesale electrical and retail distribution markets. The Company said it expects the alarm to begin shipping in early January/February 2004. By wrapping both vital functions into one alarm device, it gives electrical contractors a way to significantly cut their costs by simplifying installation and maintenance, while providing the safety features of a smoke and carbon monoxide alarm.
The USI-7795/CD-9795 features:
- Configuration for 120 volt wired-in applications

- Automatic reset button to temporarily override alarm, helpful to silence nuisance alarms, such as those triggered by fireplaces and cooking
