June 29, 2007—The University of Arkansas main campus in Fayetteville will install new six-inch LED recessed light fixtures in the Chancellor’s Residence for general illumination.
The light fixtures are made by LED Lighting Fixtures, Inc. (LLF), located near Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The University of Arkansas is the first educational institution in the United States to adopt LLF’s LED lighting technology.
Utilizing LLF’s LED downlights, the University will minimize energy consumption and its carbon footprint, reduce electricity and maintenance costs, and be environmentally friendly without compromising performance or quality of light.
LLF’s LR6 is the first LED lighting fixture to equal the output, appearance and lighting quality of a 65 watt incandescent while offering an appealing cost of ownership, according to the company. It can be used in commercial and residential applications for both retrofit and new construction installations.
