Updated ARCHIBUS/FM Version 14.2 offers condition and environmental assessment

January 5, 2004—ARCHIBUS’ latest release of its comprehensive facilities and infrastructure management solution includes two new applications: condition assessment and environmental sustainability assessment. With many enhanced productivity features, ARCHIBUS/FM Version 14.2 is designed to help users effectively communicate plans and prioritize actions involving their organizations’ facilities and infrastructure assets.

The new Condition Assessment application provides an objective, systematic method for evaluating facilities and infrastructure assets. With this application, users can better plan corrective measures and improve their overall facilities condition index, ultimately lowering the total cost of ownership for physical assets.

The new Environmental Sustainability Assessment application helps organizations carefully monitor their effect on the environment. The application lets users easily prioritize efforts that may lead to long-term cost savings while promoting a healthier environment and higher quality of life. Both new applications take full advantage of PDAs and wireless networks, so users can collect data at the source.

ARCHIBUS/FM Version 14.2 also adds to the core functionality of Version 14.1, released in May 2003, which is fully compatible with AutoCAD 2004. The new Unlimited-Tier Hierarchy feature lets organizations establish any number of flexible data hierarchy levels and easily model complex relationships among buildings, systems, and subsystems or equipment, components, and sub-components. In addition, the Enhanced Dynamic View Analysis feature uses the hierarchies, standards, and categories established in ARCHIBUS/FM to provide instant top-level analyses, summaries, percentages, and cross tabulations by relevant categories.

An embedded XML output option allows greater organizational access to ARCHIBUS/FM reports via Internet Explorer. Users may further track and report their facilities and infrastructure data by adding “dashboard-style” analysis interfaces that present high-level summaries of operational data while still permitting instant drill-downs to source detail.

ARCHIBUS/FM Version 14.2 (English) is now available to both new and existing users. Current users who participate in the Annual Software Subscription program receive the enhancements upon request, with no additional charge. End-users with previous versions of ARCHIBUS/FM can upgrade for a fee. The upgrade includes documentation in both hard and electronic copies. Localized versions of the new software will be rolled out in subsequent months. For more information, call 617-227-2508 or visit ARCHIBUS.
