May 12, 2006—The United States Patent Office issued patent US 7,040,068 to Unilin for glueless systems for HDF-based flooring panels that allow the panels to be snapped (or tapped) together.
Unilin launched this snapping technology in January 1997, and since then it has become the most applied installation system in the HDF-based flooring industry, according to the company. One of the major advantages of these snap-type systems is that they allow user-friendly installation in virtually every situation.
Since its creation in 1960, Unilin has become a major player in the industry and achieved leading positions in its four main markets (wood-based panels, laminated panels, laminate flooring and roofing systems), both in Europe and North America. For more on the company, visit its Web site.
