November 19, 2004—USA Technologies has announced an agreement with Honeywell to jointly promote and sell the full range of USA Technologies EnergyMiser energy management solutions in order to develop energy-saving programs for both the public and private sector, with a primary focus on developing efficiency initiatives with electric utilities. USA Technologies already has programs with more than 20 major power companies who offer rebates to customers who install EnergyMiser products.
Under the agreement, USA Technologies will work with Honeywell to sell, install, and support turnkey solutions that feature EnergyMiser products, including VendingMiser for vending machines, CoolerMiser for glass-fronted coolers, SnackMiser for commercial snack machines, and PlugMiser for power control technologies.
VendingMiser, for example, uses a passive infrared sensor to detect local movement and power down vending machines when their surrounding area is vacant. The VendingMiser delivers 35 to 40 percent energy savings on average and is a cost-effective way to achieve energy savings equivalent to the EPA’s ENERGY STAR standard for new vending machines, explains the company.
