December 21, 2007—COADE has announced that Dairen Chemical Corporation has completed design of its $60 million AAL-2 (Allyl Alcohol) facility in Jiangsu, China, its first using COADEs CADWorx Plant Professional plant design software. The project was completed under budget by an estimated 60% and with 12,000 man-hours, 80% under initial estimates.
Of the $60 million project cost, only about 1% was required for the design phase, an achievement that would not have been possible without CADWorx Plant Professional, according to COADE, a provider of software for multiple plant design and engineering disciplines.
Dairen Chemical was elated with the savings in time and money it achieved on this first project using CADWorx Plant Professional, said Chris Chen of Autosoftware Technology who assisted Dairen in its implementation of CADWorx.
The company also “saved additional time and eliminated potential errors using the bi-directional link between CADWorx and CAESAR II for pipe stress analysis,” Chen said. This interface allowed the plant designers and stress engineers to seamlessly pass information back and forth throughout the design process to ensure the design integrity of the finished facility and its piping systems.
