November 28, 2007—The US Green Building Council has launched two new Web sites in recent weeks, and revamped its own site.
The USGBC has launched www.Greenbuilding365.org to create global and online access to green building education. Currently, the Web site features videos from Greenbuild, a poll asking readers what they’re personally doing to lessen environmental impact, and a carbon reduction Webinar.
The USGBC says it will continue to add free and fee-based courses on green building technologies and innovation to give professionals training to successfully apply LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification to building design, construction, and operations.
The second Web site is www.GreenPlaybook.org. The Playbook for Green Buildings and Neighborhoods is the result of a partnership between the USGBC, the City of Seattle, and 20 other entities, including various US cities and counties, non-profit organizations, state and federal agencies, and utilities.
The Web site provides strategies, tips, and tools for cities and counties looking to take immediate action on climate change through green building, green neighborhoods, and sustainable infrastructure. The Playbook is designed for elected officials and senior managers and staff who are developing and implementing local climate action plans.
The USGBC also announced the relaunch of its own Web site, www.usgbc.org. USGBC says the revamped site is cleaner, smarter, and more user friendly.
Highlights of the Web site include a resource section designed to make LEED project credit templates more accessible; easier access to online reference guides and LEED reference documents; more resources for members and chapters; a USGBC store to purchase workshop materials and publications; and a more comprehensive listing of educational offerings and workshops.
