November 26, 2007—Valinge has introduced the Wood Fibre Floor, or WF Floor, which it says is much stronger than any laminate flooring on the market.
Vlinge said the production method is extremely cost effective. The whole floor could be produced in a completely continuous production process. Ten production steps have been reduced to three since no impregnation of papers and lamination is required.
WF Floors are very environmentally friendly. They can be recycled completely and converted into new floor panels, says the company. The company expects WF Floors to capture major market shares from traditional laminate floorings, wood floorings, stone and tile floorings.
The new Valinge R&D Centre in Viken, Sweden, will be used to optimize the production process and to develop new and more advanced methods to create decorative surface effects. A pilot line will be operational at the end of 2008.
Valinge is a leading flooring technology company that developed, in 1993, the first mechanical locking system for laminate and wood flooring. For more information, see the Web site.
