April 21, 2003—Oracle Systems Hong Kong Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Oracle Corp., the world’s largest enterprise software company, announced in April that industrial and construction materials provider Van Shung Chong Holdings Limited has implemented the Oracle E-Business Suite on Linux—the first Asian customer to do so. As a result, Van Shung Chong expects to save more than 50 percent of its annual information technology budget.
The Oracle E-Business Suite will enable Van Shung Chong to streamline its entire supply chain operation, from materials procurement, manufacturing, order management, inventory control, delivery, and financial settlement to customer relationship management. The suite replaces various fragmented legacy systems running on PCs and UNIX servers.
