February 16, 2005—Under a new agreement, VFA will deliver to the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (SCC) a Web-based, customized document management system that integrates VFA/facility, VFA’s flagship software, and Documentum, a document management and workflow system from EMC Corporation that will be supplied by Entology, Inc.
With VFA’s software, the state’s 600+ school districts will be able to develop five-year Facility/Capital plans for facility care, maintenance, and re-investment. In addition, the districts can use the integrated system to combine facilities condition and capital planning data with the SCC’s existing database for more efficient tracking of projects, explains VFA, adding that this will enable SCC to track projects more efficiently as they proceed from initial proposals through construction.
SCC plans to implement VFA’s customized solution statewide as the primary channel for accessing and updating all facilities and capital planning data. School districts across the state will gain a better understanding of the status of building repair and renewal projects in the New Jersey Department of Education’s approval process.
This is the latest string of partnerships that have built upon VFA’s long-standing relationship with the DOE. It began in 2000, says VFA, with the successful deployment of a tailored Web-based, long-range facility planning application.
