VFA to supply system-wide facilities capital planning to UMass medical school

June 30, 2006—Massachusetts Medical School has selected VFA’s integrated Capital Planning and Management Solution (CPMS) to support its creation of multi-year capital plans and budgets, says VFA.

Ranked four in the nation for primary care from among 125 fully accredited medical schools by U.S. News & World Report, UMass Medical School is one of the fastest growing academic health centers in the country and the state’s only public medical school.

UMass Medical School is using VFA’s solution, which combines facility condition assessments, capital planning software, and business consulting services, to collect and manage information about its facilities and to forecast maintenance, renewal, and capital spending across the organization.

VFA is currently assessing the condition of approximately 2 million square feet of educational and healthcare facilities at UMass Medical School. The organization will use VFA.facility software to manage facility asset data, prioritize requirements, create capital projects, and support the development of optimal long-term capital plans.
