January 11, 2006—VFA, Inc., the leading provider of software and services for facilities management and capital planning, has announced that the US Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) has engaged VFA to provide comprehensive condition assessments of US Army medical facilities worldwide.
Under the terms of the contract, valued at $2.8 million, VFA will complete detailed assessments of approximately 27 million square feet of health facilities managed by MEDCOM, including medical treatment facilities providing preventive care, medical research, development and training. The assessments will be conducted over a seven-month period beginning in January 2006, says VFA.
This engagement represents the second comprehensive assessment of health facilities that VFA has conducted for MEDCOM. MEDCOM previously implemented VFAs capital asset planning and management software, VFA.facility, which is currently used by more than 75 personnel of MEDCOM to support multi-year capital budgeting and capital project planning across its facilities.
