August 14, 2006—The Viking Corporation, a global leader in fixed fire protection technology, has released a new quick response, extended coverage, commercial sidewall sprinkler (VK630). This new product, which is approved for light hazard applications, offers the industry’s largest coverage areas and best overall flow and pressure performance, the company says.
This new sprinkler uses Viking’s patent-pending “flow shaper” design, which was first introduced on the Microtech residential sidewall sprinkler last year. This design, which is exclusive to Viking, enables excellent flow characteristics in a smaller, less noticeable package, Viking says.
The recessed model is available in 135°F (57°C), 155°F (57°C), and 175°F (79°C) temperature ratings while the domed concealed is offered in 135°F (57°C) and 175°F (79°C). The VK630 has a K factor of 8.0 (115) and a inch (20 mm) thread size. The new sprinkler is available in brass, white, chrome, and black standard finishes as well as over 800 custom colors.
