September 15, 2004—Visioneer Inc., a provider of intelligent imaging solutions, has announced the addition of Kofax’s patented VirtualReScan (VRS) software bundled with Visioneer’s Strobe XP 200 scanner creating the Strobe XP 200 with VRS model.
As a result of a strategic relationship with Kofax, the world’s largest information capture vendor, Visioneer now offers the industry its leading mobile scanning solution integrated with VRS to improve image quality and OCR accuracy. The scanner also includes certified ISIS drivers ensuring that the Strobe XP 200 with VRS will work seamlessly with all 300+ commercially available ISIS-based applications.
The integration of VRS with the Visioneer XP 200 scanner dramatically improves image quality and increases overall efficiency of the scanning process for document management applications.
VRS adds a number of features that improve scanner operation, including auto exposure, which automatically optimizes the scanned image regardless of original document quality; and auto cropping and wide-angle de-skew, which allow mixed batches of documents to be scanned perfectly, without the need for rescanning. Image inconsistencies in alignment (skew), brightness and contrast are eliminated by VRS, yielding the best quality, most readable scanned images to the user.
Designed to fit between the keyboard and monitor, the Strobe XP 200 with VRS is an extremely space-efficient paper management and productivity tool. Measuring only 2″ x 2.5″ x 11″, it scans paper and photos from business cards up to legal size documents at 6 pages per minute. The Strobe XP 200 with VRS has a resolution of 600 dpi with 48-bit color and attaches via a USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 port.
The Visioneer Strobe XP 200 with VRS is currently available at a suggested retail price of $399.99. For more information, contact Visioneer.
