August 8, 2001—Vocollect recently released Talkman(R) T2—a voice-directed, wearable computer for warehouse and industrial applications. The computer utilizes advanced speech recognition and speech synthesis technology, providing users with real-time communication with their logistics, manufacturing, or business systems.
According to Vocollect, the Talkman can execute more than 15 million voice transactions per day.
The computer is based on the Microsoft Windows CE operating system, weighs less than one pound, and can be used in both wet and humid environments. A lightweight lithium-ion battery provides approximately six to eleven hours of operating time.
