Warehouse management software from Motek goes live in Montreal

September 5, 2007—The first installation of Motek’s Priya Warehouse Management System (WMS) is now live at Spire Group Ltd.’s 2,251,000 cubic foot Public Refrigerated Warehouse (PRW) facility in Montreal, Canada, says Motek.

Spire Group, through its subsidiaries Everest Cold Storage and Arctic Cold Storage, plans to implement Priya globally over the next five years in Toronto and Calgary, Canada, China, India, Romania, Russia, the United States, and the Ukraine.

Spire Group selected Priya for its robust functionality, including engineered labor standards, third -party logistics (3PL) billing, flexible reports, and voice-enabled RF picking capabilities, according to Motek. Priya’s Windows-based product architecture will enable individual warehouses within the Spire network to quickly and easily configure Priya to support customer specific requirements without custom programming.

In addition, Priya seamlessly interfaces to existing customer IT systems. For Spire Group, these inherent features translate to a low total cost of ownership, notes Motek.

Founded in 1991, Motek is a warehouse management software technology leader. The company’s single, all-inclusive product, Priya, manages and tracks all warehouse activity, inventory, equipment, and operators in real time with the use of wireless radio frequency computers, voice technology, and Engineered Labor Standards.
