October 6, 2004—Wausau Window and Wall Systems now offers 410i-HS Series single-slide windows with Insulbar thermal barrier that provide superior weathering characteristics for time- and budget-sensitive projects such as educational facilities, community centers, places of worship, low-rise offices, and high-rise residential towers.
Configurations for the new 410i-HS Series include half-slide, center-slide, and end-slide, all with airtight fixed exterior glazing. Tested to meet the industry’s most stringent requirements for air infiltration, water resistance, and structural integrity, the windows carry an AAMA Architectural Window Performance Class rating of up to AW-60 and AAMA 1503 thermal results at 0.41 U-factor and 57 CRF frame.
Engineered for energy efficiency with double-silicoated pile weather-stripping and hooded weeps with Mylar flaps, the windows can accommodate up to one-inch insulated glass and are glazed with extruded aluminum glazing beads. Factory glazing and Lexan glazing also are available. Adjustable limited operation stops, sweep cams, and keyed sweep cams can be requested for enhanced security.
With the renewed interest in natural ventilation, operable windows offer a seasonal opportunity for air-conditioning energy savings when included as part of a facility’s HVAC design. Recognizing their additional sustainable design benefits, the US Green Building Council LEED Rating System awards points for operable windows in the “Ventilation Effectiveness” and “Controllability of Systems” credit categories.
The 410i-HS Series can be painted with dual color finishes to match both exterior and interior color schemes. Half screens and applied, between-glass grids are also available, as are panning and trim, which can be specified with contoured shapes.
Wausau backs its windows with up to a 10-year limited warranty. For more information visit Wausau or call 877/678-2983.
