WBSCD creates Web site for sharing water-efficiency success stories

March 23, 2005—The WBCSD has created a new Web site that invites business leaders to share water-efficiency success stories and track the progress of its Business Action for Water program.

Set up in December 2004 by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), Business Action for Water (BAW) is an ad-hoc, temporary business initiative bringing together a comprehensive network of businesses, large and small, drawn from many sectors and regions around the world.

The purpose of the BAW is to present business input into the 13th session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (UNCSD), which will run from April 11-22, 2005. The focus of the conference is water, sanitation and human settlement, and BAW will specifically be coordinating delivery of international business positions, and showcase achievements, activities and partnerships relating to the water issues.
