Web site offers virtual training for first response after disasters

August 15, 2007—Researchers at Idaho State University are creating a virtual training space called “Play2Train” to help first responders, first receivers, and other health care professionals prepare for disasters. The Play2Train project is in the virtual reality computer world “Second Life.”

The Play2Train project includes a small town where participants can set up “avatars,” or characters, who participate in virtual training exercises within a residential area, conference center, police station, and hospital.

For more information see the Play2Train Web site.
