November 28, 2007—Maryland-based BrowserMedia announced the launch of an Emergency Response Preparedness Program Web site.
In a program sponsored by the American Public Transportation Association partnered with the US Federal Transit Administration, BrowserMedia announced the launch of the new Web site in response to calls for greater emergency preparedness after the events of Sept. 11, 2001, and Hurricane Katrina.
BrowserMedia is an interactive Web development and Internet software company. Officials say the Emergency Response and Preparedness Program is an online mutual aid tool for emergency situations.
Transit systems and industry entities can contribute and access emergency resources information in order to better prepare or access during an emergency. Official say the ERPP site is an effort to assist an organization’s emergency plans with additional planning resources.
