Whitestone publishes building M&R cost reference for 2002

September 11, 2002—Whitestone Research recently released of the seventh edition of the Whitestone Building Maintenance and Repair Cost Reference, 2002. The subscription-based reference has become a useful resource for facilities budgeting and financial benchmarking, says Whitestone.

Whitestone cost profiles draw on a collection of data for 210 US and Canadian metropolitan areas including contract and in-house labor rates by trade, climatic affects, unscheduled maintenance costs, and a library of life-cycle tasks for many types of individual components.

Detailed forecasts are shown for 50 building models. Also provided are specific indexes for commercial, residential, and military maintenance construction. New features include labor requirements for each building model and service life for selected facility types and infrastructure. Key indicators are updated monthly on the web.

MARS 5.0e incorporates updated data for 2002 and is optimized for running on Windows 2000/NT/XP. Other improvements include additional cost and labor reports, the ability to select 10, 20, or 50-year projections, and an enhanced component selection screen.

MARS 5.0e is also available in a new organizational version with the capability to consolidate facility data from multiple sites. This version includes a new set of reports and a funding scenario generator. The Organization version of MARS 5.0e is provided with five individual site licenses at a substantial discount to the single user cost.
