Whitestone wins contract to help USDA improve property inventory data

October 11, 2005—Whitestone Research Corporation has been awarded a Department of Agriculture contract to assist the Agricultural Research Service as it complies with Executive Order 13327 facility requirements. The Executive Order requires all major US federal agencies to improve real property inventory data and establish performance metrics and goals for facility maintenance and operations, says Whitestone.

Whitestone responsibilities include the validation of the ARS inventory and the parametric modeling of facility condition. Recently used in an extensive study of the condition of Department of Energy National Laboratories, Whitestones MARS model provided condition estimates within 6 percent of more costly inspections. A suite of Whitestone tools will be used to establish ARS facility sustainment, recapitalization, and operations cost targets.

Whitestone Research specializes in applied economic research and software development. For more information, see the companys Web site.
