October 7, 2005—Williams Scotsman International, Inc., a leading provider of mobile and modular space, has been awarded a multi-million dollar project to provide barracks, administrative buildings, storage facilities, classrooms, and battalion and company headquarter buildings to the Fort Bliss military post in Texas, the company said.
Williams Scotsman, as part of a team led by Clark Design/Build, LLC, will provide approximately half of the modular facilities under the total contract. The deal will provide Fort Bliss with complete site preparation and turn-key services upon which 199 modular buildings totaling over 350,000 square feet will be constructed, says Williams Scotsman.
According to the US Army Installation Management Institute, modular construction will provide a more flexible solution to the US Army as it reorganizes into smaller, more self-sustaining combat brigades, adjusts to base closings, and grows with the return of forces now in South Korea and Europe that need more facilities space.
Williams Scotsman, Inc., headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, is a leading national provider of mobile and modular building solutions for the construction, education, commercial, healthcare and government markets. For more on the company, visit its Web site.
