June 28, 2002—The 1,156 exhibitors booths at this year’s Lightfair International showcased the latest in lighting, both domestic and international, both residential and commercial, giving the nearly 15,000 registered attendees a look at the newest products on the market and those slated for the coming year. The event focused on energy-efficient lighting systems and energy-related topics.
The product range spanned from decorative items to technical innovations. Among products displayed were light sources, luminaire types, mounting devices, lighting control devices, ballasts, and lighting control components.
New Product Showcase awards, Image awards, and Best Booth awards were given during the four-day event. The following partial list of New Products Award winners in their respective categories exemplifies the range of products exhibited at Lightfair.

Lightfair was held in San Francisco at Moscone Convention Center in June 2002. It broke previous attendance records for San Francisco and featured the largest number of exhibiting manufacturers and booths for San Francisco. The International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) sponsor the annual event, which is produced and managed by AMC, Inc.
